I am really out of shape.
I've tried for 3 years to get back into my running groove and size 4 clothing that came with being a semi-serious marathon runner. I've had a few good runs but, for the most part, find every excuse to not head out the door each morning.
I have really let the right side of my brain go.
I was an aspiring writer and artist once-upon-a-time. A bit more of a rebel. An "I want to change the world" kinda gal. Now, I spend more time lumping on the couch either watching TV or playing WoW. I've been on a 10 year digitally-enhanced mental vacation.
I started this blog when the Democrats lost the White House in 2000.I was really pissed (and in much better shape) back in those days. A LOT has changed since then. I deleted all of my old posts because, let's just say I was a bit too angry back then. Mind you, I'm still angry. Lots of obstruction in the U.S. Senate. No IDEA what the hell is going on with unemployment benefits. If Americans don't find this disturbing, I've lost all faith.
In short, still a lot of things to be an angry liberal chick about. I'm just a bit farther away from it now that I'm residing in Sydney, Australia-- which has a nice socialized healthcare system that works. Granted, I'm on private health insurance as a visitor but even so, I have yet to have one of my claims rejected. Dear Fox News, last time I checked, people are not dying in the streets here.
So why am I starting up this blog again?
Why not? I have no grand idea that this blog will change the world. I guess it's just a small conversation between my head and the Interwebs (assuming anyone reads this). I think it's also a way to be a bit more honest (and public) about my shortcomings and look for ways to overcome them in a both entertaining and humorous manner.
I'm a late 30-something nerd with an iPad who works in IT. Let the hilarity ensue.
